VSUnet Wi-Fi and FAQs

We are thrilled to announce the new VSUnet Wi-Fi that revolutionizes the University’s Wi-Fi digital experience.  

The new VSUnet Wi-Fi delivers exceptional connectivity, speed, and reliability for your online experience. From coursework to research or leisurely browsing, the improved network provides Wi-Fi 6E seamless connectivity throughout the campus, both indoors and outdoors  

Say goodbye to dead spots and buffering delays; the new VSUnet Wi-Fi ensures a smooth and uninterrupted connection, enabling you to maximize your time at VSU. 

VSUnet-Wi-Fi (only for VSU students, faculty and staff):

  • Select VSUnet-WiFi from your device Wi-Fi Settings.
  • Enter your VSU domain username and password when prompted to proceed.
  • Note: Gaming consoles/TVs/streaming devices will NOT work on VSUnet-Wi-Fi.

VSU-FAC-Staff (only for Faculty, Staff, and Administrators with VSU issued devices):

  • Select VSU-FAC-Staff from your device Wi-Fi Settings Enter your VSU domain username and password when prompted to proceed.
  • Note: Personal devices laptops/tablets/cell phones/gaming consoles/TVs/streaming devices will NOT work on VSU-FAC-Staff.

VSU-Guest (for non-VSU users, non-students, and VSU faculty, staff and administrators):

  • Provides limited internet access).
  • Select VSU-Guest from your device Wi-Fi Settings.
  • The device will prompt you to acknowledge the users terms and conditions once you select VSU-Guest, or your default browser opens automatically with the users terms and conditions page.
  • Be sure to accept the users terms and conditions to proceed.
  • Note: Gaming consoles/TVs/streaming devices or apps will work NOT on VSU-Guest.

VSU-IOT (for gaming consoles/TVs/streaming/IOT devices:

  • This connection is specifically for residence halls and cafeterias.
  • Select VSU-IOT from your device WiFi Settings.
  • Enter the VSU provided passcode when prompted to proceed.

First, check the following:
  • Your username and password are correct.
  • Your account is not locked out due to too many incorrect password entries.
  • Your account is not expired.
Next, forget "VSU-Student" from your Wi-Fi Settings, reboot your device and try connecting again. If you're still having issues, contact the Student Help Desk Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 804-524-2000 or 804-524-5210 or VSUstudentHD@vsu.edu.

  • Go to your devices' Wi-Fi settings.
  • Select the network based on your status and purpose (ie. guests must use VSU Guest, and gaming consoles/TVs can only connect in residence halls and must use VSU IOT).

  • Call Help Desk at 804-524-5210.
  • Or, submit a ServiceNow Help Desk ticket.
  • Enter the following information
    • Your contact information.
    • Your location (Building name and room number).
    • Type of device.
    • Detailed issue explanation.
    • Error you are getting on your device.
