Health Services
Student Health Services is open for appointments from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. The clinic is closed for lunch from 12pm to 1pm.
Your Trojan Card (student ID) must be provided for all services. There are no charges for clinic visits, and consultation visits.
Charges may be placed on your student account for the following:
- Medical equipment, such as crutches or wheelchairs-These items are loaned to the students free of charge. A fee will be assessed if they are not returned.
- Immunizations
- Braces, supports, splints and reusable ice packs
- Laboratory testing and Diagnostic testing (fees are billed directly by the laboratory provider, or diagnostic test provider to the student)
- Prescription medications-Many over the counter medications are provided. When accessing Prescription medications, students are responsible for pharmacy fees, which must be paid with medical insurance or cash.
Students may schedule appointments with the Medical Providers and Registered Nurses. Walk in visits are available and will be seen on a “first come, first served” basis. If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, please call to cancel it as soon as possible so that your appointment slot is available to other students who need one.
We are able to manage many acute and chronic conditions in the clinic. For conditions requiring diagnostic testing or more complex care, students may be referred to one of the hospitals, urgent care facilities or provider offices in our local community. The student is responsible for all fees incurred if care at a facility outside of VSU becomes necessary.
Transporation support to local providers, pharmacies and other facilities to obtain medications or treatments, is available. VSU has collaborated with a local transportation provider to assist our students with this need. Students will receive a voucher for transportation and the fee will be assessed to the student's account.
