College of Business Spring 2026 Student Accomplishments

The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business at Virginia State University celebrated the following spring 2026 student accomplishments.

(1) Jadlynn McCutchen (Management/HR major) earned a paid internship in HR for the summer in Houston with the NBA and specifically the Rockets.

(2) Markese Beck (Management major) earned a summer internship at MAHOVA in Henrico County.

(3) Lauryn Dildy (Management major) earned a paid internship for the summer in Richmond at Atlantic Union Bank.

(4) Kendall Jones (Information Systems major) earned a full time position for after graduation at Northrop Grumman in Maryland.

(5) Aniya Wright (Management major) earned a paid internship for the summer at the City of Petersburg in Parks and Rec.

(6) Devin Darling (Management major) earned a paid project management internship at Miller Electric Company for the summer in Richmond; also of note Devin earned an invite to attend the Conference of African American Financial Professionals (CAAFP) held from August 3 – 5 in Chicago.

(7) Imani Yates (Accounting major) earned an accounting internship at Kearney.

(8) Jose Griffin (Information Systems major) earned a paid IT internship for the summer at Poplar Springs in Petersburg.

(9) Geovany Disla (Accounting major), Gabby Gunn (Accounting major), Andrina Spriggs (Accounting major) and Micah Stewart (Accounting major) participated in a CAFP Conference at Virginia Society of CPAs in Short Pump and attended workshops with leading accounting professionals.

(10) Makayla Robinson (Management major) visited the Executive Mansion.

(11) India Bundy (M.B.A. student) and Madison Traylor (M.B.A. student) earned $10,000 scholarship(s) relevant to the College’s new ETA Club.

(12) Mekhi Johnson (Accounting major) earned a scholarship from Deloitte at the Emerging Leaders Program at Deloitte University.

(13) Shannell Williams (Accounting major) earned admission to the KPMG HBCU Talent Plus program and will visit with KPMG at the lake house in Florida in July.

(14) Kiersten Williams (Marketing major) earned a full-time position for after graduation at Disney in Florida.

(15) Chloe Williams (Accounting major) earned admission to graduate school at VCU relevant to a Master’s in Accountancy with a concentration in Data Analytics.

(16) Katheryn Moore (Marketing major) earned an invite from JPMorgan to join the firm at the Makola Abdullah Scholarship Gala on April 25; also of note Katheryn visited with Virginia Attorney General Jay Jones in Richmond and interviewed the AG relevant to his role in office.

(17) Ra-Is Booth (Management minor) earned a paid internship at Mark Turner Construction for the summer responsible for project management on the VSU campus.

(18) Lauryn Dildy (Management major) participated in a small business roundtable conversation with Congresswoman Jen McClellan along with twenty businesses.

(19) Jada Bourne (Marketing major) earned an on-campus internship for next semester relevant to a Thurgood Marshall College Fund ambassadorship.

(20) India Bundy (M.B.A. student) earned membership in the National Black MBA Association.

(21) Mercy Abiodun (Accounting major) earned a full time position as an accountant at PwC in Baltimore for after graduation.

(22) Basil Anderson (Information Systems major), Nyalynn Cherry (Information Systems major), Xavier Lindsey (Information Systems major), Floyd Nelson (Information Systems major) and Nia Roper (Accounting major) participated in a National Cyber League competition and finished among the top 5 percent of teams.

(23) Hope Woodies (Marketing major) earned a marketing internship for the spring/summer at the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).

(24) Alexyia Bryant (Accounting major) earned a scholarship from VSCPA.

(25) Twenty-three students in Professional Enhancement gave back and in removing litter from campus and weeding flower beds the College of Business students improved the environment and augmented aesthetics; what is more, students contributed to mental wellness by benefiting from vitamin D (sunshine) and from exercise representing yet another iteration of our experiential curriculum in Singleton.

(26) Kayla Rose (Accounting major) earned an invite to attend the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters Media Sales Institute to be held in June in Atlanta.

(27) Andrina Spriggs (Accounting major) earned an invite to attend the Conference of African American Financial Professionals (CAAFP) held from August 3 – 5 in Chicago and will join Devin Darling (Management major) as previously announced.

(28) Thirty-three students in Professional Enhancement/Career Launch gave back and in removing litter from campus and watering flowers they improved the environment and augmented aesthetics; what is more, they contributed to mental wellness by benefiting from being outdoors and from exercise. Lastly, they represented yet another iteration of experiential curriculum in the College.

(29) Ashton King (Management major), Darrin Leonard (Marketing major), Antonio White (Accounting major) and Shannell Williams (Accounting major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by EXP, Vaught, Spangler & Associates, EnvisionIt AI Solutions and the City of Waynesboro.

(30) Myles Anderson (Management major), Dahmir Gonzales (Accounting major), Orren Gordon (Management major), Berlutchy Jean-Pierre (Accounting major), Calvin King (Accounting major) and Niyah Quick (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Towne Insurance, Virginia Apartment Management Association, First Citizens Bank, DOD and Henrico Too Smart 2 Start.

(31) Damita Bollers (Management major), Alex Dayle (Accounting major), Samiyah Dell (Management major), Nakiyah Jones (Marketing major), Gene Ligon (Management major), Lauren Parham (Management/HR major) and Ava Stewart (Information Systems major) were inducted in to the National College Athlete Honor Society and recognized by President Abdullah.

(32) Jada Bourne (Marketing major) ran the Monument Avenue 10k along with 27,000 other persons.

(33) Lauryn Dildy (Management major), TraDarious Harper (Management major), Tania Outland (Management major) and Vaughn Spencer (Marketing major) helped host over 2,000 persons for Orientation/Open House.

(34) Cameron Davis (Management major) and Amari Levisy (Marketing major) participated in a networking event at Virginia Asset Management with thirty businesses.

(35) Nazir Johnson (Accounting major), Morgan Murray (Management major) and Tkiyah Wilson (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Anchor Equities, Prince George County and Kelly D Rainney.

(36) Cameron Davis (Management major) and Amari Levisy (Marketing major) participated in a Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce networking event with twenty businesses.

(37) Calvin King (Accounting major) and Niyah Quick (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Brown Edwards, Easterly Government Properties, Amazon and Kearney.

(38) Markese Beck (Management major), Ahmari Elliott (Management major), Michael Kuangu (Management major), Mia May (Management major), Alhaji Sesay (Management major) and Clarissa Womack (Information Systems major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by the Department of Defense.

(39) Forty students participated in Private Risk Management Association Day including a lunch and learn with Tania Eggleston (Risk Advisor).

(40) Rodney Allen (Management major) and twenty-five of his colleagues hosted Corey Vickers (Owner) from Corey Vickers Real Estate for a workshop in the Real Estate Club.

(41) Twenty students in Employment Laws and Policies hosted the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) in the classroom. A big thanks to Sachiko Wooten for her hospitality!

(42) Thirty-five students in COBU 111 gave back; in removing litter from campus and planting flowers they improved the environment and augmented aesthetics. What is more, the students contributed to mental wellness by benefiting from vitamin D (sunshine) and from exercise. Lastly, they represented yet another iteration of experiential curriculum in the College of Business.

(43) Jada Bourne (Marketing major) earned a $6,000 scholarship from the National African American Insurance Association.

(44) Aliyah Battle (Marketing major) earned admission to graduate school at Virginia Commonwealth University.

(45) Berlutchy Jean Pierre (Accounting major), Tkiyah Wilson (Marketing major), Ramiya Payne (Accounting major) and Brianna Thweatt (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Whiteford Law, Modivcare, Southpark Carpet & Flooring, RVA IT Pros and Atlantic Union Bank.

(46) Shantell Gay (Accounting major), Amaya Jackson (Management major), Ashton King (Management major) and Berlutchy Jean Pierre (Accounting major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Pace-Equity, Virginia Real Estate Investors Alliance, Oak View Group, Joy of Wine and Storytellers Channel.

(47) Naomi Anderson (Management major), Kashka Beazer (Management major), Tyron Rice (Management major) and Kiersten Williams (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by the County of Dinwiddie and BPV Management Co.

(48) Markese Beck (Management major), Ahmari Elliott (Management major), Berlutchy Jean Pierre (Accounting major) and Clarissa Womack (Information Systems major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by BDO and Lockheed Martin.

(49) Kiersten Williams (Marketing major) and Geovany Disla (Accounting major) hosted a entrepreneurship event for restaurant owners attended by forty persons.

(50) Forty-five students participated in Truist Day with Shante Owens (Senior Manager).

(51) Brooke McClinton (Information Systems major) earned a post-grad internship for the summer in New York at Cartier responsible for Commercial Strategy; also of note, Brooke is now published after being selected by an academic journal relevant to her article Design and Technology Evaluation of a Modular Python-Based Infrastructure for Reproducible Computational Graph Analytics wrote with support from Shaun Gao.

(52) More than four hundred students were recognized for their many accomplishments at the College’s 52nd Annual Awards Show.

(53) Leah Brown (Marketing major), Cowyn Glass (Marketing major), Nazir Johnson (Accounting major), Darrin Leonard (Marketing major), Ramiya Payne (Accounting major) and Brianna Thweatt (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Richmond Region Tourism, University of Virginia, Karen Gloyer Books, The Voice and Southern Virginia Higher Education Center.

(54) Orren Gordon (Management major), Darrin Leonard (Marketing major) and Jacob Wiler (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Circana, Collegiate Connections, New York Life, and the Virginia Port Authority.

(55) Fourteen students in Intermediate Accounting I hosted Cary Davis (Agent) from the IRS in the classroom. A big thanks to Leah Hall for her hospitality!

(57) Naomi Anderson (Management major), Kashka Beazer (Management major), Zaria Cole (Marketing major), Samiyah Cook (Management major), James Prescott (Management major) and Kiersten Williams (Marketing major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Bank of America, Accenture and the U.S. Postal Service.

(58) Fifteen students in the M.B.A. program departed for D.C. for an overnight conference relevant to the College’s new Entrepreneurship Through Acquisition (ETA) Club.

(59) Twenty-five students in Intro to Business hosted Sam Hayes (CEO) from Stratageum in the classroom. A big thanks to Louis Dabney for his hospitality!

(60) Ashton King (Management major), Darrin Leonard (Marketing major), Josiah Mcintyre (Management major) and Kamila Powell (Management major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by NBC, Capitol Extracts, Central Virginia African American Chamber of Commerce, Prince George County, The Idea Center and Wake County Public Schools.

(61) Zhiyon Jordan (Management major), Calvin King (Accounting major), Michael Kuangu (Management major), Arriyona Maxwell (Accounting major), Lakhi Vandiver (Marketing major), Kaylah Washington (Information Systems major) and Imani Yates (Accounting major) were the Top Performers in Small Group Role-Play with Industry as assessed by Bloomberg, HCA, X-RAY Market Research, Richmond Public Schools, Apex Center for Entrepreneurs, Montgomery County, Kearney & Company, New York City Council, Alliance Group, Carvana, Hire 1 Staffing, VCU and Chesterfield County.

(62) Nyla Marshall (Management major), Makayla Robinson (Management major) and Kiersten Williams (Marketing major) hosted a dozen entrepreneurs for a Black Vendors Bazaar attended by ninety persons.

(63) SyAna Archie (Management/HR major) earned admission to graduate school at George Washington University to study HR.

(64) Lauren Parham (Management/HR major) earned admission to graduate school at the University of South Carolina to study HR; Lauren has also been admitted to Columbia University.

(65) Amyia Morgan (Management major) shadowed executives at the Washington Commanders in D.C.

(66) Jada Bourne (Marketing major) earned an invite to study abroad in Rwanda this May.

(67) Taylor Williams (Marketing major) earned the opportunity to model in the prestigious RVA Fashion Week in April for the second year in a row.

(68) Rodney Allen (Management major) and forty of his colleagues hosted Dustin Olverson (Owner) from eXP Realty for a workshop in the Real Estate Club.

(69) Justin Francis, Gabby Gunn, Jillian Lavender, Patrick Ricks, Te'Anna Taylor and Tony Tucker (all Accounting majors) participated in the NABA Day conference in Norfolk.

(78) TraDarious Harper (Management major) earned free admission to a Keller Williams real estate licensure coursework program.

(79) Jada Bourne (Marketing major) earned a $2,500 competitive scholarship from UNCF.

(100) Brooke McClinton (Information Systems major) was admitted to graduate school at Columbia like Lauren Parham (Management/HR major) as previously announced; because Brooke has also been admitted to Carnegie Mellon she now has a big decision to make for the fall.

(101) Students’ excellence materialized in new donations of $4,500 to the College including from the Mortgage Bankers Association and Networking Technologies + Support.
