Message From The Dean
Welcome to the Reginald F. Lewis College of Business again. The College is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), International. Only about 5% of the world’s business schools earn this distinguished hallmark of excellence. The College won the HBCU Digest “Best Business Program” in 2017. We are the recipient of the 2018 Metropolitan Business League Chairman’s Leadership Award for building leaders. I cannot adequately convey my debt of gratitude to everyone who has been so instrumental in the last year in ensuring another successful year for The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business.
Our students continue to demonstrate excellence in every way. Students excel in the classroom and in the community. Our students’ activities outside of the classroom include preparing Federal and State Income Taxes, volunteering at food banks, mentoring school children, participating in state-wide and national competitions and returning with top awards, lobbying at the State Capitol, and much more.
Next, I would be remiss without acknowledging the College's faculty and staff. I could not be any more blessed to work with such an outstanding group of professionals. Reginald F. Lewis faculty and staff are well invested in our students. Our culture within Singleton Hall celebrates prioritizing students; and our faculty and staff embrace it. I should add that like our students, faculty and staff are invested in the community serving on boards, holding elected office, running businesses, volunteering in countless capacities, authoring research articles, and leading in every way.
We are blessed with alumni and Alumni Advisory Board who invest in our programs and students. From providing financial resources, spending time in the classroom, reviewing our programs, mentoring our students and to providing internships, our alumni are second to none.
We are also grateful to our Industry Advisory Council and Industry Partners. In a semester, more than 100 companies visit with our students in Singleton Hall. Our Industry Advisory Council members donate great amount of their time and treasure every year. The Council members bring industry practices into the classrooms. They work with faculty and staff on curriculum review and strategic plan for the College; provide internships and hire our students.
University leadership, without you none of this would be possible! To our President and Provost and Board of Visitors, you believe in us at the College, and you regularly celebrate us for our accomplishments. Please know that we are at your service and we intend to continue to lead by example.
Lastly, for any prospective students thinking about where to attend college; I hope that you will consider The Reginald F. Lewis College of Business. Should you decide to join us, I promise that you will not be disappointed.
