Employee Degree Attainment Program (EDAP) Summary and Important Deadlines
- Pre-Application Survey: Employees begin by completing a pre-application survey through the "Apply Now" button on the EDAP webpage.
- Submission of Documents: After the pre-screening process, selected employees are requested to submit the following:
- Personal statement outlining their academic and professional goals.
- Two letters of recommendation.
- Unconditional acceptance letter from VSU Graduate Admissions.
- Academic transcripts.
- Selection Committee Review: A selection committee reviews applications and selects candidates based on eligibility criteria and alignment with VSU’s needs.
- Consent to Participate Agreement: Approved candidates enter into a formal agreement outlining their commitment to the program's terms and conditions.
Applications are received in the Spring semester and awards begin in the Fall.
The following timeline is as follows:
- January 15: Application period opens.
- March 15: Deadline for completing the pre-application survey.
- March 31: Notification to selected employees to submit additional documents.
- April 30: Deadline for submission of personal statements, letters of recommendation, acceptance letters from VSU Graduate Admissions, and academic transcripts.
- May 31: Selection committee completes the review of applications.
- June 15: Notification of acceptance into the EDAP program.
- July 1: Deadline for accepted candidates to sign the Consent to Participate Agreement
- August: Participants begin their graduate programs in the Fall semester.
