Employee Degree Attainment Program (EDAP) Summary and Important Deadlines

  1. Pre-Application Survey: Employees begin by completing a pre-application survey through the "Apply Now" button on the EDAP webpage.
  2. Submission of Documents: After the pre-screening process, selected employees are requested to submit the following:
    1. Personal statement outlining their academic and professional goals.
    2. Two letters of recommendation.
    3. Unconditional acceptance letter from VSU Graduate Admissions.
    4. Academic transcripts.
  3. Selection Committee Review: A selection committee reviews applications and selects candidates based on eligibility criteria and alignment with VSU’s needs.
  4. Consent to Participate Agreement: Approved candidates enter into a formal agreement outlining their commitment to the program's terms and conditions.

Applications are received in the Spring semester and awards begin in the Fall.

The following timeline is as follows:

  • January 15: Application period opens.
  • March 15: Deadline for completing the pre-application survey.
  • March 31: Notification to selected employees to submit additional documents.
  • April 30: Deadline for submission of personal statements, letters of recommendation, acceptance letters from VSU Graduate Admissions, and academic transcripts.
  • May 31: Selection committee completes the review of applications.
  • June 15: Notification of acceptance into the EDAP program.
  • July 1: Deadline for accepted candidates to sign the Consent to Participate Agreement
  • August: Participants begin their graduate programs in the Fall semester.
