Apply for Housing

First Time Students

Welcome to VSU! We look forward to having you on-campus. The VSU online housing process allows all first-time students the opportunity to apply for housing in the convenience of their personal space.
The online process for first-time students consists of the online application and online payment.

Completing the Housing Application

  1. Login into VISTA (login information will be your VSU email address and password)
  2. Select the "Housing Portal" tile.
  3. Click "Applications & Forms"
  4. Click the "Housing Application" for the selected term
  5. Review and sign the Housing and Food Service Agreement
  6. Answer the required application questions
  7. Submit your $150.00 Room Reservation Fee Payment via the payment portal
    (Please note that the system will redirect you to the payment portal and once you have completed payment it will redirect you back to the Housing portal. Be sure to see a "Thank You" message.

Housing Application Fee

  • Priority Payment Deadline is April 1st, by 4 pm for Fall Housing
  • Priority Payment Deadline is November 1st, by 4 pm for Spring Housing
  • Room Reservation Fee (Non-refundable): $150.00

Payment Method

Students must complete the room reservation fee payment of $150.00 when completing the Housing Application online.

All first-time students will be assigned according to the date their payment is received; assignments will begin after May 1 (Fall) and after December 1 (Spring) and continue as payments and applications are received. To be eligible for room assignment students must complete their housing application and pay the reservation fee. All VSU students with less than 29 earned credit hours are required to live in university-affiliated housing.
