Financial Reporting

The Department of Financial Reporting has many responsibilities, including:

  • Prepares the University’s Annual Financial Statements in accordance with Federal, State, and GASB regulations
  • Prepares the University’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) that is submitted to the Department of Accounts (DOA) to be included in the Annual Comptroller’s Report for the Governor of Virginia
  • Prepares annual, quarterly, monthly and ad hoc reports and attachments
  • Performs reviews of financial data for accuracy and reasonableness
  • Reviews and interprets accounting policies and regulations
