Are you ready for online course delivery?  

Before enrolling in an online course, you should first assess your readiness for stepping into the online learning environment. Spend some time thinking about yourself as a learner and see whether your characteristics would help you be a successful online learner. Your answers to the following questions will help you determine what you need to do to succeed at online learning. Feedback provided after completing the self-assessment survey will also provide you with some information regarding what you should expect from an online course.

  • The online Ed.D. in Educational Administration & Supervision is Virginia State University’s first online doctoral program.

  • The program prepares education leaders and scholarly practitioners to be knowledgeable about organizational systems.

  • Applicants must be engaged in research to improve policy and practice and be attuned to issues of equity.

Virginia State University provides a five-semester part-time curriculum for the Registered Nurse (RN) to further their education and obtain a BSN degree. This degree completion program is entirely online. The curriculum aligns with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing guidelines for baccalaureate-prepared graduates. 

VSU offers the RN-BSN completion program only. Taught through VSU Online, all faculty in the department are credentialed in online teaching and learning practices. Through asynchronous instruction, learners complete two-three credit courses, one course every eight weeks each semester. Each semester, the learner completes six credits.

The Homefront Readjustment for the Armed Forces Certificate is designed for undergraduate students and professionals in interdisciplinary fields who wish to develop specific knowledge of military culture and communities.  

  • The Virginia State University’s Homefront Readjustment for the Armed Forces Certificate is the only undergraduate military cultural competency certificate program in the Commonwealth of Virginia approved by the State Council of Higher Education (SCHEV) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).  
  • Students will acquire the skills to interact in community settings where the needs of active duty service members, veterans and their families are met.  
  • Courses in the program focus on, but not limited to, understanding the roles of human service workers in addressing existing and potential challenges, stigmas, mental health concerns, stressful family dynamics that are often confronted by the military and veteran community.  
  • Full virtual and online platform, conveniently accessible anywhere, anytime. 
  • Students will identify and facilitate access to essential services and resources, social supports, case management, care coordination, and advocacy.
