Research Involving Human Subjects
The University and its faculty accept ethical and legal responsibility for the well-being and protection of all human subjects involved in research and classroom activities or demonstrations. Both the University and the faculty are legally responsible under relevant Federal, State and Virginia State University regulations, and the University has accepted the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations 45 CFR 46 on the Protection of Human Subjects.
The University has established procedures for the appropriate review and approval of all activities involving human subjects. All research activities carried out under the auspices of the University and involving the use of human subjects must be reported and approved in accordance with the following procedures prior to the initiation of the work.
