Collegiate Licensing

All merchandise bearing Virginia State University’s name, image, and likeness must be obtained from a VSU-licensed vendor. The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) manages the licensing process on behalf of the University, ensuring that all products and artwork are submitted for approval prior to production. Except where exempted by policy, royalties are paid to the University. University departments, student organizations, and VSU supporters should purchase merchandise only from licensed vendors. Merchandise that uses or references the University through its name, slogans, distinctive phrases, or recognizable color schemes without proper licensure may be subject to enforcement action.

Reproduced marks may not be altered, and the correct trademark or registration designation must be included in the design. Anyone who wishes to use the University’s name, image, and likeness must obtain a license.
