Banner is the new university computer system that will replace SIS Plus. With SIS Plus, students check grades, holds, their class schedule, and their transcript. Many students register for classes using SIS Plus too.
Everything a student might do in SIS Plus can be done in Banner. The difference is that Banner is easier to learn and the technology behind Banner is current; SIS Plus is based on older technology is becoming too difficult for the university to maintain.
Ask in your major's department. If you don't have a major yet, contact the Academic Support Center.
Maybe. You need to talk to your faculty advisor - he or she will work with the Registrar's office and the class instructor to see if there's room for one more person.
There are various PINs that you must know when using Banner Student Self-Service. This will help you determine what PIN number you need and where to go to find it.
If you are logging into Banner Student Self-Service for the first time, your initial PIN is your birthday in MMDDYY format (6 digits). For example, if your birthday was January, 14th, 1988. Your initial PIN would be 011488. The purpose of the initial PIN number is to allow you to set up a login PIN number and challenge question in case you forget the PIN you set. The initial PIN expires as soon as you use it and reset it to a login PIN. Note: When logging in your USER ID is your “V” number.
The login PIN is a 6 digit number that is set up when you first sign on to Banner with the initial PIN. Once set by you, the login PIN is used to login to Banner to check your student records such as to register for classes, unofficial academic transcripts, financial aid, housing, and financial information.
