Board of Visitors Meetings and Public Comment Period February 5-6, 2026

The Virginia State University (VSU) Board of Visitors will convene on Thursday and Friday, February 5–6, 2026, in the Gateway Dining & Events Center, located on the Virginia State University campus at 2804 Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard.

Additionally, the Board will conduct a Public Comment Period concerning the proposed mandatory fee increase during the Facilities and Finance Committee Meeting on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:15 a.m., also in the Gateway Dining & Events Center. Members of the public who wish to provide comments must register in advance. On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., the Rector will hold a small, social dinner at Gateway Dining & Events Center, 2nd Floor. No board actions will be conducted. Board committees will meet all day Thursday and reconvene on Friday morning, as indicated below. These public sessions, while open to constituent attendance, are exempt from livestream as they do not qualify as full board meetings. No Board actions will be taken, and there will not be an opportunity for public comment.

  • 9:00 a.m. - Committee on Academic & Student Affairs
  • 11:15 a.m. - Committee on Facilities and Finance
  • 1:30 p.m. - Committee on Institutional Advancement
  • 2:45 p.m. - Committee on Personnel, Compensation & Governance

Friday, February 6th

9:00 – 12:00 p.m. – Full Board Meeting

At 9:00 a.m., Friday, February 6th, the Full Board will convene at the Gateway Dining & Events Center for a meeting, which will be available via live stream. There will not be an opportunity for public comment at the meeting.
