VSU Foundation Named First Beneficiary Of Petersburg Live! Casino Virginia’s Community Giving Program
Funds donated will directly support students through expanded access and enhanced academic opportunities.
The Virginia State University Foundation has been selected as the first nonprofit partner for Live! Casino Virginia’s new “Live! Change Maker” program, an initiative that supports local organizations through patron donations.
Live! Casino Virginia, which opened to the public on January 22, 2026, in Petersburg, announced that all proceeds from the “Live! Change Maker” program’s inaugural quarter will benefit the VSU Foundation. The initiative allows guests to donate leftover change at cash-out kiosks to a designated local nonprofit.
The VSU Foundation advances educational opportunities and institutional excellence at Virginia State University by generating private support that strengthens academic programs and expands access for students.
“This partnership reflects a shared commitment to education, opportunity, and community impact,” said Dr. Robert L. Turner, Jr., Executive Director of the Virginia State University Foundation. “Support from initiatives like Live! Change Maker directly contributes to student success and helps advance the University’s mission.”
The donation period runs through March 31. Through partnerships that invest in education, workforce development, and community growth, Virginia State University continues to demonstrate that Greater Happens Here.
