Trojans Deliver Holiday Joy: VSU Students Collect 3,600+ Toys Valued at Over $56,000 for Local Children
A powerful milestone that highlights the compassion, leadership, and heart of VSU students.

This holiday season, the true spirit of the Trojan family shone through our students. Registered Student Organizations, supported by the Department of Student Activities, led the Annual Holiday Toy Drive, collecting more than 3,600 toys valued at $56,240 to bring joy to children across the region.
This year’s Toy Drive is one of the most impactful in VSU history, thanks to the dedication and generosity of our students. After a week of collecting toys, VSU students volunteered three consecutive days, visiting classrooms and community spaces to personally deliver holiday cheer. Their kindness sparked unforgettable moments for hundreds of young people and families.
The students’ efforts directly touched the lives of children and families across the region, including those at:
- Lakemont Elementary
- Patrick Copeland Elementary
- West View Early Childhood
- Walnut Hill Elementary
- Pleasant Lane Elementary
- Ettrick Elementary
- Harry E. James Elementary
- Dupont Elementary
- CCAMPIS Families
- Jamaica Family Holiday Relief Initiative
- And many other families in our surrounding communities
From books and educational toys to games, bikes, electronics, and holiday surprises, students ensured that local children entered the season with joy, excitement, and renewed hope.
“This Toy Drive is a powerful reflection of what it means to be a Trojan,” said Casey Perry, Director of Student Life and Engagement. “Our Registered Student Organizations led with heart, and our community partners, students, faculty, and staff united with purpose. Together, we created an impact that will be felt far beyond the holiday season.”
VSU proudly celebrates its students’ remarkable commitment to service, proving once again that Greater Happens Here when Trojans lead with purpose and compassion.
