The Virginia State University Director of Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging has been named one of the Top Ten Voices: LGBTQIA+ in the U.S. and Canada.
This week, social media platform, LinkedIn, announced that VSU alumnus and employee, Dr. A.C. Fowlkes made the LinkedIn top ten list of must-follow thought leaders who are sharing insightful content and shaping conversations around inclusion and diversity.
Dr. A.C. Fowlkes is a licensed clinical psychologist. In addition, he is a Forbes Contributor and LGBTQ+ sensitivity, transgender inclusion, and allyship expert. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Trevor Project (a crisis-support services group for LGBTQ+ young people).
"At Virginia State University, we develop leaders who are globally competitive," Fowlkes said. "I am proud to be a product of that development and now—to contribute to that development as an internationally recognized voice for the LGBTQ+ community."
Fowlkes began his position as the Director of the University’s newly established Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging in April 2022.
