Board of Visitors Meeting Notice for August 4-5, 2022
The Virginia State University (VSU) Board of Visitors will meet on Thursday-Friday, August 4-5, 2022 in the Gateway Dining and Events Center located on the campus at 2804 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
At 9 a.m. Thursday, August 4th, the Board will hold Session I of the New Board Member Orientation, and at 9 a.m. Friday, August 5th, the Board will hold Session II. These public sessions, while open to constituent attendance, are exempted from livestream as they do not qualify as full board meetings. No Board actions will be taken at the orientation sessions, and there will not be an opportunity for public comment at the meeting.
At 1 p.m. Friday, August 5th, the Full Board will convene at the Gateway Dining & Event Center for a board meeting, which will be. available via livestream; however, there will not be an opportunity for public comment at the meeting.
The public may access the Full Board meeting as follows: 1) Select the following link https://livestream.com/vsu/bov8-5 or 2) Scroll to the bottom of the VSU website homepage (www.vsu.edu) and select VSU Live Events. Viewers will then select the event titled, “August 5th Board of Visitors Full Board Meeting.”
Pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, VSU will provide a sign language interpreter during the livestream (IT Accessibility Laws and Policies | Section508.gov). Due to continuing public health and safety concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the University requests all persons wear masks to enter the meeting space.
All start and ending meeting times are approximate. Meetings may begin after the posted start time at the pleasure of the Board. The Board reserves the right to change its schedule as necessary.
