Virginia State University Board of Visitors

 In accordance with the Code of Virginia, the Board of Visitors will hold meetings and events on Thursday-Friday, August 5-6, 2021. At 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 5th, the Board will hold a New Board Member Orientation Session at the Gateway Dining & Event Center. No Board actions will be taken at the session. A brief Meet and Greet for Board members is planned at the Gateway from 12:30-1:15 p.m.; and at 1:30 p.m., the Full Board will convene in a meeting in the same location. There will not be an opportunity for public comment at the meeting.

On Friday, August 6th, at 10 a.m. the Board will hold its Annual Retreat at the Gateway Dining & Event Center. No Board actions will be taken at the Annual Retreat.

The Full Board meeting will be held in open and closed sessions. Board meetings or events which will be live-streamed will be available to the public at https://livestream.com/vsu. If viewers experience a technical interruption, they may contact the VSU Helpdesk at (804) 524-5210.

Due to continuing public health and safety concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic, the University requests all persons to wear masks to enter the meeting space. Attendees will also be requested to certify that they:

  • Do not have any of the symptoms of COVID-19: Fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, the new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, or vomiting, diarrhea (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms)
  • To the best of their knowledge, they have not been exposed during the past 14 days to someone with COVID-19
  • Have neither tested positive for COVID-19 nor are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test
  • To the best of their knowledge, they have not been exposed during the past 14 days to someone with COVID-19
  • Agree to wear a mask at all times and to the extent possible to maintain a safe distance between themselves and anyone else

All start and end times are approximate. Meetings may begin either before or after the listed approximate start time as board members are ready to proceed. The Board reserves the right to change its schedule as necessary.
