Textiles, Apparel & Merchandising Management Overview
The Textiles, Apparel, Merchandising and Management (TAMM) program prepares students for a variety of careers in the fashion and apparel industries. Courses include Visual Merchandising and Styling; Fashion Illustration and Computer Applications; Apparel Design; Apparel Product Development; Fashion Promotion and Event Planning; Fashion History; and Fashion Marketing and Merchandising. Students learn how clothing is produced and marketed to the public and how decisions are made in the fashion industry. The program is designed to prepare students, via a broad yet focused education, for the diverse careers available in Textile, Apparel Design, and Fashion Merchandising and Marketing. All majors are welcome to pursue a minor in TAMM. The minor requires 18 credits in the areas of textiles, fashion, merchandising, clothing construction, and product development. Recent grads have gone on to work for Nike, Lands End, Pensole and Target.
