Accreditation

abet.pngABET is the agency that accredits programs in engineering, engineering technology, computing, and applied and natural science. This organization accredits programs in the United States as well as internationally.

ABET requires that programs who receive accreditation meet several criteria including those related to students, faculty, and facilities, to name some. It requires that programs continuously improve in order to meet the demands of this ever-changing, technological and global society.

Our undergraduate programs in computer engineering and manufacturing engineering are both ABET-accredited, having met the highest quality standards set forth for technical education. This puts our graduates in a position to contribute to technological innovation, and solve the complex problems of today which require them to work with teams of individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives. In developing these solutions, our graduates understand that ethical considerations as well as the welfare and safety of the public are paramount. Learn more about why ABET accreditation is important.

The programs in the Department of Engineering are accredited by specific commissions. The computer engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org; and the manufacturing engineering program is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, www.abet.org.
