Department of Mathematics and Economics
The Department of Mathematics is committed to teaching and research. Our goal is to provide an outstanding education for our undergraduate and graduate students to learn and do research in mathematical sciences. The department prepares students for a wide range of career paths, ranging from academia, actuarial firms, insurance industry, banking, software developer, engineering firms, financial industry, school teachers, to any other government agencies. Our students are capable of assuming leadership roles in a rapidly evolving, knowledge-based, multicultural society. Students will develop strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Moreover, our graduates will gain exposure to technology, and develop strong oral and written communication skills through our undergraduate research and capstone course.
