The department provides the professional guidance needed to develop insight into biological research and preparation for a laboratory bench work, graduate study or those experiences that enhance the medical/professional school applications.
Students are encouraged to participate in research with faculty mentors with projects such as ecology/climate, animal habitat/disease studies, zoology, genomics, and bioinformatics. The faculty page lists the individual focus of faculty mentors.
The Department of Biology also offers graduate programs leading to the Master's degree in biology. For courses open to graduate students, see the course listing link.
