College of Education

Learning to Change the World

VSU’s College of Education has a long history of preparing teachers and educational leaders to enhance learning, both in their own communities and abroad. Since 1882, we have served our students, as well as P-12 schools and other recreational facilities by preparing teachers, leading educational organizations, and building a stronger educational workforce for Virginia.

We guide future educators as they learn to teach in the classroom, oversee learning environments, assess instruction, and administer instructional programs.

Current students and graduates grow to become leaders in their schools and the wider education industry.

VSU proudly supports a caring and culturally responsive faculty that builds an inclusive environment and considers each student’s unique background, directly addressing individual needs in the classroom.

Whether it is throughout Virginia, or around the world through our collaborations and partnerships, we are committed to strengthening society through excellence in education. We invite you to discover the opportunities the College of Education offers.
