Salary Commensurate with Education and Experience

The Director of the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Title IX Compliance will support Virginia State University's business and operational needs through ensuring the University's compliance with EEO and Title IX state and federal laws, policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.

The candidate will provide leadership and supervisory oversight for the execution of quality programs and services (e.g., consultation, investigation, conflict resolution, prevention and awareness training) that enable the University to:

  • Comply with relevant anti-discrimination laws governing all employment, matters, employee/student ADA and accommodations, and employee/student conduct;
  • Investigate and timely resolve policy violation complaints;
  • Avoid violations by managers, employees and students;
  • Manage risks more effectively; and
  • Provide greater opportunities for the engagement and communication of the principles of equal opportunity and inclusion in all aspects of the academic/work environment

 

Required Qualifications

The candidate must hold a master's degree from an accredited institution in the area of public policy, human resource management, or one of the social sciences. The candidate must be well versed in federal and state EEO and Title IX laws, statutes, regulations, policies, and rules as it applies to nondiscrimination, principles of personnel management, and University programs and operations. Extensive and demonstrably progressive experience administering equal opportunity and compliance programs is required. The candidate must have comprehensive knowledge about and extensive experience with investigations including analyzing data, reaching logical conclusions, and making appropriate recommendations. A successful candidate must have experience working with diverse groups and the ability to communicate effectively in formal and informal settings. The candidate also must have experience providing mediation consultation.
