The Finance Division aims to reflect a service–oriented team approach to supporting Virginia State University’s land grant mission of instruction, research and public service by providing outstanding administrative leadership.
We seek to meet or exceed state and national standards in higher education administration and financial management through excellence in performance and compliance, and to provide innovative decision support solutions to facilitate the advancement of the institutional vision through the development of integrated financial strategies in the areas of finance, information technology, budget operations, risk management, capital outlay, facilities, and auxiliary services.
The Office of the Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer serves as the university’s senior financial representative on the Board of Visitors Finance Facilities and Audit Committee, as well as the primary official for budgetary legislative and policy matters involving the:
- Senate Finance Committee
- House Appropriations Committee
- State Council for Higher Education for Virginia
- Council of State Senior Budget Officers
- Finance Advisory Committee
